Design and Display 

As leaks suggested this time with the Pro series of iPhones we are getting a pill shape camera cut-out instead of a notch. You can look at the picture above, we see a pill share cutout for face-ID sensors and a selfie camera. The new iPhone 14 pro Max’s weight and height have been slightly shrieked whereas it is slightly thicker compared to last year’s iPhone 13 Pro max.

Talking about the display, iPhone 14 Pro Max will have a 6.7-inch display over a 6.68-inch panel on the iPhone 13 pro Max. It is an LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and support for HDR10, and Dolby Vision. Probably the most interesting feature of the display is its brightness. Now both iPhone 14 Pro and Max’s display can go up to 2000nits of brightness which is one of a kind in the smartphone segment.

For comparison, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra offers 1750nits of max brightness. The new iPhone 14 series now also support an always-on display feature which was one of the long-awaited features by iPhone fans.

Performance & Software 

iPhone 14 Pro Max is powered by the new Apple A16 Bionic SoC. It is fabricated under the 4nm process, which makes it much better performance and efficiency at the same time. According to Apple, the new A16 Bionic chipset is 40% faster than what other competitors are offering. Along with this, we get 6GB RAM with up to 1TB of NVMe storage.

On Software, iPhone 14 Pro Max runs on the latest iOS 16 right out of the box. We have seen many features added to iOS 16 like a new lock screen, filter focus, edit messages and more.

Camera 

This time we get the biggest camera jump from Apple after a long time. It was with the iPhone 6s when Apple switched from an 8MP sensor to a 12MP shooter. While with the new iPhone 14 Pro & iPhone 14 Pro Max we get a new 48MP main camera sensor. Now we can record cinematic video up to 4K resolution which was capped at 1080p on iPhone 13 Pro series last year.

Apart from the primary camera, ultra-wide and telephoto lenses are still rocking 12MP camera sensors. But Apple has promised the image quality has been improved on all three lenses.

As we reported earlier, the new iPhone will get an auto-focus feature on the front camera which turned out to be true. Now auto-focus on the front camera has been around for a long time on Android smartphones. So with this feature on new iPhones, we can expect some of the best selfies from the front camera of the smartphone.

Battery & Other Features 

As we know Apple does not disclose the battery capacity of their iPhones. But Apple claims with the new power-efficient display and processor, iPhone 14 Pro max can offer video and audio playback for up to 23hrs and 75hrs respectively. Whereas talking about the charging speed, iPhone 14 Pro Max supports up to 20W wired charging, 15W MagSafe and 7.5W Qi-Wireless charging.

One of the interesting features Apple has offered on the new iPhone 14 series is now you can contact emergency services via satellite. For now, this feature will be only available in the US and Canada region and Apple is offering this service FREE for 2 years.

iPhone 14 Pro Max Price in Nepal & Launch Date

Surprisingly, Apple decided not to hike the price of the new iPhones despite the economic recession. The price of the iPhone 14 Pro Max starts from $1099 in the US for the base variant. The pre-order starts on September 9 and will be available for purchase from September 16. Also, Apple will be selling only the eSIM variant of the new iPhone 14 series in the US and Canada.

Now talking about the price and availability of iPhone 14 pro Max in Nepal, we don’t have any information at the moment. Also, Nepal Government has not lifted up the import ban on smartphones that cost above $300. So looking at the scenario, iPhone 14 Pro Max might launch after Tihar in Nepal.
