New internet technology IPVC: service provider 3 years ago, regulator just starting to prepare

Most of the internet service providers in Nepal have already started converting their customers to the new technology Internet Protocol (IP) V-Six.

Internet service providers such as World link, Subisu, Vianet, Classic Tech, Websurfer have started converting their customers to IPVC since a few years ago.

The regulator Nepal Telecommunication Authority has finally shown the initiative to find its role in this matter when the service providers have reached a situation where they can spontaneously convert their customers to IPVC. When IPVCs was introduced in Nepal from 2019, the regulator got the move only after three years.

Now, the authority has moved forward in the direction of preparing the necessary regulations for that. This issue is included in the budget decided by the authority for the current financial year.

The Authority has made a plan to study the access, use and technology and security of IPVCX and encourage the use of IPVCX.
